Shandong Jiaotong University Opens a New Chapter in Inter-University Collaboration
Recently, the delegation of Shandong Jiaotong University was invited to visit universities such as the Arctic University of Norway and Bremen University of Applied Sciences in Germany, as well as relevant scientific research institutions and enterprises, and achieved fruitful results.
At the Narvik campus of the Arctic University of Norway, the delegation had in-depth exchanges with Professor Bjørn Sørensen, dean of the College of Engineering, directors of various departments and staff members of the International Exchange Office. The two sides reached an agreement on teacher-student exchanges, joint postgraduate and doctoral student training programs, and scientific research cooperation in areas such as smart logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and green and low-carbon. At the Tromsø campus, the delegation held talks with Professor Bjørn Barteldsen, head of the Department of Technology and Safety in Tromsø, and many professors from the research team of the College of Engineering. They conducted on-site investigations of the Sustainable Technology and Safety Research Center, the Shipping Safety Virtual Simulation Laboratory, and the Aviation Safety Virtual Simulation Laboratory to understand the multi-level talent training model for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students in Norway. And they reached a consensus on the subsequent joint training of application-oriented talents majoring in navigation and cooperation on scientific research projects.
At Bremen University of Applied Sciences in Germany, the delegation had exchanges and discussions with Professor Feldmeyer, dean of the School of Management and Information, professors majoring in electrical engineering, and the person in charge of the International Exchange Office. The two sides introduced in detail the basic situation, talent cultivation, scientific research, and laboratory construction of their respective schools. And they had in-depth discussions on subsequent academic cooperation in areas such as professional talent cultivation in embedded systems and logistics engineering, teacher exchanges, and sustainable transportation, automation and electrical engineering, and maritime management.
During the visit, the delegation visited many cooperative enterprises and scientific research institutes of foreign colleges and universities to understand the technological developmentof enterprises, the demand for application-oriented talents, and the situation of school-enterprise cooperation. In addition, during their stay in Germany, the delegation held talks with alumni of Shandong Jiaotong University who work at the Hamburg Applied Aviation Research Center to deeply understand the cooperation model of industry, academia, and research in Germany, as well as the demand for and cultivation of application-oriented talents in enterprises.
