“City of Springs | Visionaries’ Echo” Interview with FIAP President Riccardo Busi: Human Artistic Exploration in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Jinan International Communication Center has meticulously planned and launched the high-end bilingual interview series “City of Springs | Visionaries’ Echo.” This series aims to establish a platform for high-level dialogue, inviting iconic figures from around the world to engage in in-depth discussions on global hot topics, the changes of the times, and Jinan’s future development, with the goal of achieving the vision of “exploring Jinan with a global perspective”.

Riccardo Busi, President of The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), a renowned Italian photographer, and Honorary President of the Silk Road Photographic Organizations International Alliance (SRPOIA), has also been recognized as the Image Ambassador of Confucius’s hometown in China and an Honorary Citizen of the birthplace of the pinhole camera. Additionally, he serves as a visiting professor at Shandong University of Art & Design. Transitioning from teaching management and communication to becoming a photographer, Busi has undergone a remarkable career transformation, viewing photography as a path to understanding the world.

Busi summarizes the different stages of his photography career with the word “friendship”. Through photography, he has traveled the globe, connected with photographers from various countries, and explored unique landscapes. In Jinan, he held his first solo photographic art exhibition in Asia. Along the Belt and Road countries, he has created numerous works capturing the spirit and daily lives of ordinary people from diverse ethnicities and cultures.

 From film photography to digital imaging, technological innovations have driven significant changes in photographic equipment and techniques. Speaking on artificial intelligence in photography, Busi notes that photographers are not resistant to AI but emphasizes that in documentary photography and competitions, synthesized images must be clearly marked. This ensures the preservation of authenticity in showing real life, real images, and the real world.

 As a photographer, Busi demonstrates deep humanistic care. While embracing technological advancements in the industry, he remains passionate about his craft. He highlights Jinan as a historic city rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty, offering abundant inspiration and resources. Busi expresses his willingness to collaborate with people from all walks of life to showcase Jinan’s unique charm as the “City of Springs” to the world.
