Seven hundred years ago, the Yuan Dynasty master of painting and calligraphy, Zhao Mengfu, depicted Que and Hua Mountains in Jinan as a poetic landscape in his famous painting “Autumn Colours on the Que and Hua Mountains”; seven hundred years later, the people of Jinan are using tower cranes as “brushes” to sketch the grand blueprint of the future new city along the Yellow River. Who would have thought that the Que and Hua Mountains from Zhao Mengfu’s brushwork would now coexist with modern architecture, blending past and future?
On February 21, reporters from the Jinan International Communication Center visited the site of the Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I) in the Jinan Start-up Area. With the opening of the Yellow River Bridge’s parallel bridge, Jinan’s “development along the river” strategy has accelerated, and the construction of the Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I) has entered high gear, with plans to reach the opening conditions by July.
The Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I) will create a modern new city integrating culture, ecology, and technology. Among its key features are cultural landmarks, including a TV tower inspired by the “New Lotus of the City of Springs” and a museum designed with the concept of the “Spring Fountain Stone”, which will rise from the ground, showcasing the poetic charm of northern-style gardens. In the future, this area will become a more livable, culturally rich new city in Jinan.
In terms of spatial layout, the Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I) follows the structure of “One Axis, One Tower, Three Museums, Three Zones”. The “One Axis” is the People’s Green Axis, which runs through the entire region; The “One Tower” is the TV tower, which will become the region’s iconic building; The “Three Museums” include the museum, science and technology museum, and Quehua Zhonghe Center, showcasing cultural and technological allure; The “Three Zones” consist of the Garden Expo Leisure Zone, the Park Habitat Zone, and the Vibrant Supporting Zone, offering citizens rich recreational and living spaces.
According to Chen Bin, Chief Engineer of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd (Section 1) for the Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I), all employees remained on duty during the Spring Festival to fully advance the project. Currently, there are over 300 management personnel and more than 1,000 workers.
In addition, Xue Bingxiang, Chief Engineer of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd (Section 2) for the project, stated that the team will focus on key routes, carefully assess any unfavorable factors, and work tirelessly to resolve challenges and bottlenecks, while organizing the construction process efficiently. Through a 100-day focused effort, the team aims to complete the construction tasks with high quality and efficiency.
The construction of the Mount Que Ecological Culture Zone (Phase I) is not only a new chapter in urban development but also a perfect fusion of history and modernity, nature and culture. As the project progresses, this future new city on the banks of the Yellow River is taking shape, adding a vibrant cultural touch to Jinan.
